The Brief
More Than Just Horse Racing
The Rockhampton Jockey Club is the busiest racing club outside the South-East corner and a nursey for young jockeys and aspiring trainers. COHA Group was engaged to provide the master planning vision and design for Rockhampton Jockey Club’s facilities to support the increasing needs of its community.
The redevelopment will include a new Clubhouse, a new extended thoroughbred turf track with a 1400 metre straight, enhanced equine training facilities, equine education, children and community engagement activation, hospitality, equestrian and dressage and a myriad of external public realm work.
The upgrade will more than triple the capacity for female riders with new female changerooms and see improved flood resilience for the ongoing operations of the Rockhampton Jockey Club.
