COHA Group assisted in the delivery of the masterplan design for the racing and equine multipurpose community precinct for the Lockyer Valley Regional Council. (LVRC). Reporting to the Council’s ‘Collaborative’ subcommittee, we worked closely with the LVRC, Racing QLD, Equestrian QLD, UQ’s Veterinary School (Gatton Campus), Lockyer Valley Turf Club, Regional Development Australia, and other key stakeholders.
The Precinct includes an enhanced turf thoroughbred track, two sand galloping tracks, an Olympic standard equestrian overlay, stabling and training facilities, hospitality, retail, education, conference and meeting facilities. A focus of the precinct is the community activation, where opportunities for RV leisure activities, markets, kids pony clubs, walking and cycling trails as well as cross country tracks will make this precinct a benchmark in integrating community and equine facilities.
“The team listened acutely to what we were seeking and had the ability to adapt and at all times expressed a high level of professionalism and generally terrific to work with.”
Jason Harm, Acting Manager Communities, Lockyer Valley Regional Council
