** COHA PROJECT UPDATE **
Carbrook Golf Club located in Carbrook within Logan City Council is a members-owned golfing facility. Spanning 92 hectares of freehold land, the club features an 18-hole Championship Golf Course, a clubhouse facility, a maintenance facility with several sheds, and other areas that support its golfing operations.
Over the years, the club has faced significant challenges due to flooding events. In 2013, 2017, and twice in 2022, the nearby Logan and Albert Rivers flooded, causing substantial damage to the club`s property. To mitigate the risk of future flood events and enhance the site`s resilience, the Club secured a funding grant from the Queensland Government`s Department of Tourism and Sport (DTS), CRARRP program.
The Club engaged COHA Group to project manage the delivery of these remedial works, for various projects across the site, focusing on remediation and future flood protection.
Golf Spectrum Pty Ltd were the contractors awarded the tender and over the past few months have been hard at work undertaking course recovery works, designed by Stantec, including new cart paths across all 18 tees, stabilising the riverbanks to prevent further erosion and deterioration of the course. Works are set to conclude this September.
By implementing these projects, Carbrook Golf Club will enhance its infrastructure, improve its resilience to flooding, and ensure a better experience for its members and visitors. The funding provided by the Queensland Government`s DTS will play a crucial role in protecting the Club`s assets and maintaining its status as a premier golfing facility in the region.
COHA are thrilled to work alongside this great club and GM, Scott Wagstaff and to once again play a small part in enhancing the sports landscape in QLD.
